The product guide explains how to connect the model, quotation and cut list.
The context
Furniture design needs to connect dimensions, parts and materials. SodiConstructor brings 3D modeling and cutting preparation into a workflow built around melamine furniture.
- Who it's for
- Carpenters, designers and melamine furniture workshops.
- Our work
- Development of the web design experience: a 3D editor, part tools, assistance and preparation of fabrication information.
The challenge
A visual model needs to stay connected to dimensions and parts so a workshop can continue into cutting preparation.
Our approach
The editor combines the 3D workspace with tools and a part catalog. Furniture components remain the unit of work: sides, shelves, dividers and doors.
What we prioritize
Fabrication preparation requires reviewing materials, dimensions and the approved version. A render alone does not validate a cutting package; the workflow keeps that review before release to the workshop.
Product decisions
01
Design with parts
Sides, shelves, doors and dividers connect the model to the parts the workshop needs to manufacture.
02
Dimensions in the workflow
Editing and measuring tools share the workspace so users can review a design without losing context.
03
Prepare for fabrication
The workflow continues into cutting optimization and information exports for the workshop.
